The Directorate-General of Customs and Indirect Taxes of France provides data on merchandise trade. Information on trade in goods is collected on the basis of trade declarations with other 27 EU member states and other countries (so-called third parties). Each month statistical data covers the reporting month (the publication month) and also includes corrections and enrichment related to previous months. The statistical territory of France includes mainland France (including the free zones of the Gex and Haute Savoie regions), Corsica, other French coastal islands, the Principality of Monaco and the French Overseas Departments (DOM). Overseas Territories (TOM) are not part of the statistical territory of France. The foreign trade statistics of France are compiled in accordance with the so-called "special trade" method. This means that only goods entering or leaving the national economy are considered, except for goods that are imported and then re-exported as is. Import is an aggregate volume of imports coming directly to the domestic economy (intended for direct domestic consumption or for processing) and goods withdrawn from customs warehouses for consumption. France's exports include exports of domestic goods, as well as the re-export of foreign goods after processing in France. Trade statistics exclude, in particular: - repair, temporary entry, bunkering, placement in the customs warehouse of goods other than oil, transit, etc .; - flows associated with certain goods, such as military equipment, monetary gold, means of payment etc., launch vehicles for space vehicles; - exports within the EU that are not subject to statistical reporting obligations (operators whose annual cumulative sales to EU partners are below the threshold of 460 000 euros); - imports within the EU that are not subject to statistical reporting obligation (operators whose annual purchases from partners from the EU are below the € 460,000 threshold). To determine the statistical value of each product, the concept of the market value of the goods is used, and not the value of the transaction. This amount does not include the sum of any taxes related to foreign trade (customs duties, VAT, refunds, export taxes etc.). All cost values are expressed in euros. Goods are mainly characterized on the basis of net weight. Net weight - the mass of goods without packaging, as well as accompanying liquids and other preservatives. Weight is expressed in kilograms. Imports and exports forecasts are calculated by TrendEconomy experts using mathematical algorithms with seasonal adjustments.
